Specialty Language Centre specialises in teaching English to people from all over the world. Our courses are designed to be intensive, comprehensive and practical.

Our English courses vary in length and content to meet the individual interests and ability of students from many countries throughout the world.

Course Duration: 2-52 weeks
Lesson hours per week: Full-time: 20 hours Face to Face study plus optional 5 hours Self-Access study(this is not compulsary), Part-time: 15 hrs
Course starting dates: Working holiday visa/Visitor (tourist) visa - every Monday. Student Visa: Approximately every 2 weeks: (General English Course and High School Preparation course). Contact the college for specific dates.

"Internship/Work Experience Programme"
Specialty Language Centre is pleased to announce that we have developed an Internship/Work Experience programme, with various positions being introduced through a professional personnel consultant (hereinafter referred to as the Consultant) to students who have a tourist visa, working holiday visa or student visa (conditions apply). There will be no payment to students from the employer.

"Combined General English and Business Course Package"
Increase your employment prospects! Combine English study (General English) at Specialty Language Centre (CRICOS PROVIDER No. 00048F) with Business, Tourism, Hospitality, Computer, Office Administration, Accounting or Child Care Studies at a business college registered with the Australian government. Complete a minimum of 12 weeks English study (General English) at Specialty Language Centre satisfactorily and gain entry into a business college for further studies (conditions apply).

 

General English Communication
Specialty Language Centre provides intensive General English classes from beginner to advanced level. Each student is tested on arrival and placed in a class of the appropriate level. In these classes students improve their accuracy and fluency to develop the necessary communication skills to assist them in a variety of social, travel and work related situations. The General English Courses involve participation in class excursions, cultural activities and computer sessions.

Preparation for High School
The English Preparation for High School course is designed to prepare overseas students for entry into the Australian high school system. The course is designed to develop the necessary language and study skills required for academic success. Specialty Language Centre assists students in finding a suitable high school for their individual study needs, and handles the enrolment procedures. Specialty Language Centre works with a number of excellent government and private high schools renowned for their academic standards and their concern for individual students.

Preparation for University, TAFE or Business College
The English for Academic Purposes course at Specialty Language Centre caters to students who have reached an intermediate level in English and who wish to undertake academic studies at college or university level. The programme provides students with the language and study skills they will need for entry into and successful completion of their chosen course of study.

Preparation for International English Exams
Specialty Language Centre can prepare you for the following international English language proficiency test:

*Joint programme for 'Parent and Child' to study in Australia
*Junior English

*'Combined English and Business/Information Technology/Tourism Studies'
*Introduction to Hospitality English

Business English
Specialty Language Centre's English for Business Communication course is for intermediate level students who want to go on to business studies at a college, TAFE college, or university, or who require business English skills for their career. After completing this course, students will have acquired the communication skills necessary for business studies or work purposes.

English for the Hospitality/Tourism Industry
The English for the Hospitality/Tourism Industry course at Specialty Language Centre is designed primarily for intermediate level students who wish to undertake further studies in Hotel Management, Tourism and related courses at college, TAFE college or university. As the course is designed specifically for this industry, it is also suitable for people who already work in this field and want to improve their English language skills in this area.

English and Holiday Courses
If you are a short-term student who wishes to combine language learning with holidaying in Australia, there is a choice of English study packages:-
